Shirasaya Katana Damascus Steel Sword Folded Clay Tempered Wood

This is a white Japanese Katana sword in the Shirasaya format. Shirasaya Katana blades were widely used by real samurai in history. They did this as a way to better preserve and safeguard their weapons from rust and corrosion. There's no handguard for protection, as it's simply made out of a natural hardwood handle and scabbard.

The blade is made out of Damascus Steel, which has gone through an extensive folding process. This produces visually enticing blade layers that dance through its length. The sword boasts a double-pegged full tang for increased security. It's clay-tempered for a harder edge, with a genuine hamon line. The fittings are made out of brass and bullhorn.

The sword has a shinogi zukuri. This is a blade shape with a thicker spine. It's ideal for cutting practice, but can also be unsharpened. This makes it perfect for safe Iaido training or decor. It can be stored safely, keeping rust and corrosion at bay.
