Hanwei Wakizashi Golden Oriole Full Tang

Complementing Hanwei's Golden Oriole Katana is the Wakizashi, with a full tang blade forged from T10 tool steel, differentially hardened, and clay tempered to reveal a beautiful midareba hamon with an edge hardness of around 58 to 62 HRC while the back has a hardness around 38 to 42 HRC.

As expected, this wakizashi is equipped with a tsuba, fuchi, and kashira that depicts a praying mantis stalking a cricket while being unaware that it is being watched by the Golden Oriole. The wooden tsuka is first covered with white samegawa and the tsukamaki uses a deep blue cotton ito. The design is then completed with a deep blue lacquered saya with black sageo. A traditional maintenance kit and protective cloth bag is also included.
