Hanwei Wakizashi Differentially Hardened Practical

This Practical Wakizashi is part of Hanwei's Practical series, a matching piece to the Practical Katana (SH1070) and Tanto (SH2254). This line focuses on providing practitioners and martial artists high quality blades at an affordable price. Forged from 1566 steel, this material that contains substantial manganese results in a tough blade with excellent edge retention despite extended use. The differential treatment and clay tempering process also results in an elegant suguha hamon. The estimated hardness for the edge is 60HRC and the spine at 40HRC.

Like its peers, this sword is equipped with high quality fittings that are plain and unadorned for reasons of affordability and function. Meanwhile, the tsuka is inlaid with white same and wrapped tightly with black tsuka ito to provide a secure grip. The wakizashi is completed with the black lacquered saya with black sageo.
