Tanto T10 Steel Knife Functional Kanmuri-Otoshi-Zukuri

Forged from T10 steel, this Functional Kanmuri Otoshi Zukuri Tanto is named after the shape of its blade where the thickness on the spine of the blade is thinner from the halfway point of the blade towards the tip. This tanto has a full tang blade that is traditionally clay tempered, heat treated, and mirror polished by hand to bring out its prominent notare (undulating or wavy) hamon.

Contributing to its durability are the iron sawtooth tsuba (guard), brass fuchi (hilt collar), and brass kashira (pommel cap). The tsuka (handle) is covered with genuine white panel same (rayskin) and overlaid with hinerimaki (with or without hishigami) using cotton ito. The tanto comes sheathed in a black glossy or matte saya (scabbard).
