Tachi Damascus Steel Sword Tempered Magpie & Plum

Tachi swords are among the first two-handed edged weapons used by samurai, featuring a strong curve that later inspired the popular Katana. This particular Tachi is fully functional, made from high-carbon Damascus Steel. It has been folded multiple times and exudes vibrant layers across its blade. The steel has undergone heat treatment, quenching, and traditional clay tempering for a much harder edge suitable for cutting, and boasts a genuine hamon.

The scabbard and handle, both crafted from hardwood, feature brass and copper carvings. All the fittings are entirely brass and copper, adhering to a magpie and plum blossom motif symbolic of good luck and prosperity in East Asian culture. This sword, while being a very functional cutting or training tool, is also a true piece of art.
