Katana Damascus Steel Sword Dragon Koshirae & Engraving

This replica of a Katana, used historically by Japanese warriors- the samurai, is made from the mysterious and visually enticing Damascus Steel. The steel has been folded 13 times, producing over 8192 vibrant layers dancing across its blade length. The metal underwent heat treatment, quenching, and traditional clay tempering to produce a genuine hamon line and harden its edge.

The blade is full tang and double-pegged for increased security. The wooden handle is tightly wrapped with real rayskin and a silk katate-maki (cord wrap style) for added stability. The blade features a bohi (groove) which lightens its load while producing tachikaze (sound feedback) when slashing. The scabbard, adorned by a carved dragon, is made of wood with added gloss for aesthetics; the fittings are made of copper and brass. This dragon Katana can function as an ideal tameshigiri (cutting practice) tool for bamboo, or serve as a beautiful, storytelling decorative piece.
