1045 Steel Lion Koshirae Moroha Zukuri Katana

This katana from Shadow Dancer has a striking design due to its moroha zukuri blade forged from 1045 steel that has been clay tempered and mirror polished to reveal a midare (wavy) hamon. Although there is no yokote, the blade does feature a bohi that helps to reduce its overall weight and improve its point of balance. The blade is secured to the tsuka with one mekugi.

This beautiful yet affordable piece comes equipped with an iron maru gata (round) tsuba and alloy fuchi kashira that features a lion and other intricate designs. It also comes with an alloy menuki along with cupronickel seppa and habaki. The Haichi style tsuka is first covered in white genuine samegawa and wrapped with artificial silk ito. Completing the overall aesthetics of the katana is an oil lacquered saya with brass shitodome and thick sageo.
