1095 Steel Hitatsura Style Hamon Katana

This Katana from Shadow Dancer has a shinogi zukuri (curved with yokote and shinogi close to the mune) blade forged from 1095 steel, differentially hardened, clay tempered, and Kesho polished to reveal a beautiful Hitatsura hamon (fully tempered blade with tobiyaki (hardening spots) along the body and spine of the blade). This blade is then secured to the tsuka with a mekugi.

It is equipped with an iron maru gata (round) tsuba along with brass fuchi and kashira that has flower motifs. It also comes with a brass menuki, copper seppa, and habaki. The Haichi style tsuka is covered in white genuine samegawa held in place with cowhide ito. The katana blade is sheathed in an oil lacquered saya mounted with brass shitodome to prevent the Japanese imported rayon sageo from fraying.
