9260/51 Steel Brushed Version Katana

This katana from Shadow Dancers has a shinogi zukuri blade forged from 9260/51CRV4 steel, oil quenched, steel brushed, and features a bohi that reduces the sword's overall weight and improve its point of balance. 51CRV4 has a higher toughness and tensile strength than 9260. With Shadow Dancer's process of segmented heat treatment, the hardness of the front reaches 55HRC, ensuring the hardness and elasticity of edge. Meanwhile the part of the sword near the guard is 42HRC. The blade is then secured to the hilt with a mekugi.

It is equipped with an iron maru gata (round) tsuba, and alloy fuchi and kashira. It also comes with an alloy menuki, along with brass seppa and habaki. The Haichi style tsuka is covered in white genuine samegawa and wrapped with artificial silk ito. The blade is then sheathed in an oil lacquered saya mounted with alloy shitodome and thick sageo.
