9260 Steel Wakizashi (Naginata Blade Shape)

Shadow Dancer's 9260 Steel Naginata Wakizashi is a highly affordable option despite its luxurious appearance. Its blade profile is named Naginata after the peaceful Edo Period practice of smelting down and shortening long Naginata blades into Katana and Wakizashi while still keeping the core characteristics.

The naginata zukuri blade is forged from 9260 steel, a high silicon spring alloy steel that offers outstanding strength, durability, and resistance to corrosion. This blade has undergone oil quenching and features a bohi that reduces the overall weight of the sword while improving its point of balance.

This wakizashi comes equipped with an iron maru gata (round) tsuba, and brass fuchi and kashira with intricate designs. The rest of the koshirae including the menuki, seppa, and habaki are also made of brass. The blade is secured to the Haichi style tsuka with one mekugi. The tsuka is then covered in white genuine samegawa and wrapped with artificial silk ito to give it a sturdy and comfortable grip.

This wakizashi comes with an oil lacquered saya with brass shitodome and thick sageo.
