9260 Steel Wakizashi

The Shinogi zukuri (curved with yokote and shinogi close to the mune) blade is forged from 9260 steel, heat treated, oil quenched, and mirror polished. 9260 steel is a great option for swords as this high silicon spring alloy steel offers outstanding strength, durability, and resistance to corrosion. The blade has a bohi that reduces the weight of the sword and improves its point of balance. It is secured to the hilt with a mekugi.

At first glance, the iron tsuba is very unique as it has a kurikomi mokko gata shape where the lobes have inome notches in the corners. Combined with the design on the tsuba, it definitely adds to the aesthetics of the sword. The wakizashi is also equipped with brass fuchi, kashira, menuji, habaki, along with copper seppa. The Haichi style tsuka is first inlaid with genuine samegawa in white and wrapped with artificial black silk ito. It comes sheathed in an oil lacquered saya with brass shitodome and thick sageo.
