Bamboo Koshirae Tamahagane Katana (Clay Tempered)

This formidable masterpiece is Z-Sey's Bamboo Koshirae Tamahagane Katana, a fully handmade gem that takes at least three to four months to produce. Featuring a Shinogi Zukuri (curved blade with yokote and shinogi close to the mune) blade forged from tamahagane, it is then differentially hardened, clay tempered, and Sashikomi Grade A++ polished to reveal an exquisite suguha (straight) hamon.

The koshirae with bamboo motifs include the white copper tsuba, fuchi, kashira, seppa, and Yasuri style habaki. The handmade Haichi style tsuka is inlaid with white large emperor node samegawa, silver menuki, and wrapped with black Japanese silk tsuka ito. The blade is secured to the hilt with a mekugi.

Completing the overall design is the black oil lacquered saya fitted with horn koiguchi, kurigata, and kojiri. The kurigata's opening is mounted with white copper shitodome to prevent the black Japanese silk sageo from fraying.
