Basic Musashi Katana – Oil Quenching

This basic Musashi katana is inspired by Miyamoto Musashi is a Japanese philosopher, writer, and swordsman known for his 61 undefeated duels. along with his books: The Book of Five Rings, and Dokkōdō.

This katana's shinogi zukuri blade is forged from high carbon spring steel, oil quenched, and mirror polished. Although there is no hamon, the blade features a bohi to reduce the overall weight of the sword and improve its point of balance. The blade is secured to the hilt with a mekugi.

Staying true to Musashi, the katana is equipped with a double iron ring tsuba; blackened brasss fuchi, kashira, menuki; brass seppa; and brass muji habaki. The Haichi style tsuka is covered with white samegawa held in place with kapok ito from Japan. The katana comes sheathed in a saya mounted with brass shitodome that prevents the thick sageo from fraying.
