PRODUCT DETAILS

The Basket-Hilt Broadsword holds a legendary status as the weapon associated with Scottish highlanders in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. This replica, based on an original sword from the Royal Armouries, features a Glasgow-style hilt from the mid-18th century.

The blade, marked "Andrea Ferara," is believed to have been originally made in Germany a century earlier and later re-hilted with the refined basket design. This version of the sword has an antiqued finish, giving it an authentic appearance. The stainless steel hilt, crafted by Paul Chen at the Hanwei factory, requires minimal maintenance and boasts a museum-quality patina. The high-carbon blade is lightly antiqued as well.

The grip is wrapped in wire-wrapped genuine rayskin, and the basket liner is made of fabric-covered leather, replicating the original design. The sword comes with a leather-covered scabbard. For a bright-finished version of this sword, refer to Hanwei model SH2002.
