Windlass Bosworth Field Tudor Bastard Sword

This hand-and-a-half sword, often referred to as a Bastard Sword because of its ambiguous origins and undefined classification, boasts a massive broad blade. Its design, which regained popularity at the end of the 15th century, was crafted expressly to engage both armored and unarmored adversaries. Such blades were significantly used in the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485, a pivotal conflict in the Wars of the Roses.

The blade, forged from 1065 high carbon steel, features two sets of fullers, which reduce its weight despite its broad design. Both the crossguard and pommel sport a darkened, antiqued finish. The hand-and-a-half shaped handle is designed with a ridge and a steel separation ring to enable versatile handling. This sword is a practical piece intended for cutting tests and it comes with a leather scabbard.
