Tanto 1060 Carbon Steel Knife Black and Red Japanese

Tanto short swords could be made as a secretive knife, carried inside a samurai's robe, or as a last-resort knife usable in actual combat. This replica Tanto is in a combat format, complete with a proper handguard for defense. It's made from 1060 high carbon steel, and exhibits a double-pegged full tang blade that has been heat-treated, quenched, and hand-polished in 12 steps.

The handle is traditionally wrapped in rayskin, underneath a leather tsuka-maki wrap, allowing for a firm grip. A wooden scabbard provides rust protection. Forged out of brass and copper, the fittings can be fully disassembled for maintenance.

This affordable Tanto can be used for training in tantojutsu, light functional cutting, or as a rich samurai decorative piece.
