Black&Red Katana Oil Quenched Iron Koshirae

This is a Japanese Katana sword, featuring the same characteristics and traits as a historical samurai weapon, but made out of Damascus steel. Its blade boasts black and red patterns dancing across it. The blade has been folded 13 times, resulting in approximately 8192 visible layers across its length. It's been hand-polished, heat-treated, and oil-quenched to achieve a mirror-like shine and optimal hardness.

The tang benefits from a double peg, enhancing overall security, while the handle, wrapped with rough rayskin and a hineri-maki (handle type) pattern cover, enhances the sword's grip strength. The Katana features bohi (grooves) which reduce its weight and produce a tachikaze (sound of a perfect swing), while the quality hardwood scabbard, lacquered for aesthetics, houses the sword. The fittings, crafted from sturdy iron and brass, complement the red and black theme of the blade.
