Brass Snake Koshirae Katana Clay Tempered

This is a Japanese Katana samurai sword, which will bring its new owner protection against illness or bad luck, due to the snake motif engraved on the handguard, handle, and scabbard. This single-edged curved sword, made from 1095 high carbon steel, has been polished using the ancient Hazuya stone way for a bright shine, while sporting an authentic clay temper to produce a harder edge with an authentic and genuine hamon.

The blade is full tang and double-pegged for added security, while its handle, overlaid with a dark theme, has a rayskin silk Hineri-maki (cord style) cover for a stronger grip. The scabbard, constructed from sturdy Huali wood, presents a natural wood color and quality buffalo horn mountings. The fittings, made from brass and copper, are entirely covered by a Japanese snake.

This Katana can excell in cutting practice if sharpened, due to the absence of Bohi (grooves), or can be an ideal dojo practitioner's tool for Iaido, if left unsharpened.
