Katana 1095 Carbon Steel Sword Clay Tempered 1.26″ Sori Iron Flower

This is a Japanese Katana sword, featuring a 1.26" level of curvature, much more pronounced than a regular Katana blade. This curve enhances its effectiveness for sweeping, slashing strikes similar to the Tachi sword previously used by the samurai cavalry. The sword's fabrication involves 1095 high carbon steel that has been differentially heated, quenched, and traditionally clay-tempered to create a hardened edge with a genuine, real hamon line.

This highly curved Katana sports a double-pegged, full tang blade alongside a bohi (grooves) which decrease its weight and produce a tachikaze (sound of a perfect swing) during slashing. The blade has been hand polished to achieve a mirror-like shine. The scabbard, made of reliable hardwood, is lacquered for aesthetic enhancement, and the wooden handle features a tightly wrapped rough rayskin underneath a smooth leather tsuka-maki, assuring a comfortable yet forceful grip. The fittings, each crafted from iron and brass, are adorned with East Asian flowers. This Katana is suitable for cutting practice, training, or decoration.
