Katana 1095 Carbon Steel Sword Clay Tempered

This Japanese Katana sword follows a general dark theme with white specks. Forged from the durable 1095 high carbon steel in a renowned maru (single block) style, it is praised for its resilience in practical use. The blade is traditionally clay-tempered to achieve ideal hardness and is bestowed with a genuine hamon. Furthermore, the blade undergoes water-quenching and hazuya stone polishing to attain a mirror-like reflection and shine.

The handle consists of a wooden core enveloped with a rough rayskin material. It is tightly bound in a katate-maki (wrap style) silk cord wrap, ensuring a firm grip. The scabbard is robust wood, enhanced with a shiny gloss effect. The fittings, which can be assembled and disassembled, are individually constructed from alloy, brass, and copper. They follow a Japanese flower motif with the presence of a dragon symbolizing courage and tranquility. The blade features a bohi (groove), designed to create a tachikaze (sound of a perfect swing). It can be both sharpened and unsharpened, making it suitable for cutting practice, safe Iaido, or decor.
