Shirasaya Katana Damascus Steel Sword Clay Tempered Black Blade

The Shirasaya format stylizes this Japanese Katana sword. Not intended for practical battles, this samurai blade lacks a handguard and is kept inside a wooden handle and scabbard instead. Its purpose is to ward off rust and corrosion. The hardwood handle and scabbard of this particular blade have been lacquered. Its blade, forged from Damascus Steel, has been folded repeatedly to create stunning blade layers.

The blade is distinctly treated to have a unique color on its edge, which assists in combatting rust. It's full tang, ensuring added stability. It has been polished and clay tempered to achieve optimal hardness, giving it a genuine hamon line. Its fittings are brass-made, and it features a shinogi zukuri (blade shape) with a thick spine designed for cutting.
