Katana Damascus Steel Sword Black Steel Dragon Koshirae

This is a Katana sword, modeled after the real edged weapon used by past legendary samurais, featuring a golden Japanese dragon motif. The dragon stands for courage, power, and bravery. The sword is made from renowned and mysterious Damascus Steel, folded 13 times to create approximately 8192 visible blade layers that dance gracefully across its length. The unique unokubi-zukuri blade shape of this Katana enhances its cutting capabilities, and it is clay-tempered to produce a hamon line and a harder edge.

The full-tang, double-pegged blade has a mirror-like shine due to hand-polishing and features a bohi (groove) for desired tachikaze (sound feedback) during slashing. The handle, made of wood, is wrapped in a traditional combination of rayskin and tsuka-maki for a firm grip. To ensure its reliability, the scabbard is crafted from hardwood. Complementing the construction are the fittings made of alloy, brass, and copper, which can be fully disassembled and assembled. This Katana would serve as an ideal tameshigiri (cutting practice) piece or a safe Iaido tool for dojo training.
