Dojo Pro 1060 Steel Tanto #3

The tanto is a traditional Japanese dagger has the same craftsmanship as its larger peers, making it a work of art comparable to the katana and wakizashi. Today, it often serves as a ceremonial weapon or practical tool.

This Hamidashi style tanto is Ronin Katana's Dojo Pro Tanto #3 which has a blade forged from 1060 steel and through hardened. Its mounting style means that it has a small tsuba (guard). Adding to its overall design is the gold colored habaki (blade collar), seppa (washer), and menuki. The tsuka (handle) is wrapped in black same (rayskin) and the tsukamaki uses black ito (handle wrap). The tanto is sheathed in a simple black glossy saya (scabbard) that is lacquered with a black sageo (carrying cord) attached to the kurigata (knob for sageo).
