Dojo Pro Katana Model #18

An exquisite looking katana, the Dojo Pro Katana Model #18 from Ronin Katana has a blade forged from 1060 steel and through hardened. The maru gata (round / circular) tsuba is based on an actual antique Japanese katana. The fuchi (hilt collar) and kashira (pommel cap) for this katana is made of blackened iron and the gold colored menuki is made of brass.

This katana is beautiful largely due to the color scheme of the sword. With a tsuka inlaid with black same (rayskin) which is held in place with the tight tsukamaki using a dark teal silk ito (handle wrap). This color contrasts with the black same to give it a magnificent look when combined with the gold menuki. The blade is sheathed in a black glossy lacquered saya (scabbard) fitted with hand cut and polished buffalo horn kurigata (knob for sageo), koiguchi (mouth of saya), and kojiri (scabbard end cap). The black sageo (carrying cord) is made of synthetic silk.
