Dojo Pro Katana Model #5

Ronin Katana's Dojo Pro Katana Model #5 is a distinguished piece where the blade is made of 1060 steel and through hardened. The through hardening heats the blade and quenches it quickly so there is consistent hardness throughout the blade. The kiku gata (chrysanthemum shape) tsuba (guard) is based on an actual Japanese katana. Meanwhile, this sword also features blackened iron fuchi kashira (hilt collar and pommel cap) along with gold colored brass menuki (decorative ornaments).

The tsuka (handle) is covered with white same (rayskin) and the tight tsukamaki (wrapping on the tsuka) uses black silk ito (handle wrap) to give it a comfortable and sturdy grip. The glossy black lacquered saya (scabbard) is equipped with hand cut and polished buffalo horn kurigata (knob for sageo), koiguchi (mouth of saya), and kojiri (scabbard end cap). The high quality synthetic silk sageo (carrying cord) is black and can be used to secure the sword to the obi (belt).
