Dojo Pro Katana Model #6

The Dojo Pro Katana Model #6 from Ronin Katana is a distinctive looking piece with a blade forged from 1060 steel and through hardened. This quick quenching process hardens the steel throughout the blade. It features a unique maru gata (round or circular) tsuba (guard) based on an actual antique Japanese Katana. The fuchi kashira (hilt collar and pommel cap) are made of blackened iron while the gold colored menuki (decorative ornament) is made of brass.

The tsuka (handle) is inlaid with white same (rayskin) and held in place with a black silk tsuka ito (handle wrap). The tsukamaki is tight and geometrical, adding to the aesthetics of the katana while ensuring that the wielder has a sturdy and comfortable grip. The katana is sheathed in a glossy black and white saya (scabbard) where the white part of the saya is nearest to the koiguchi (mouth of the saya). The scabbard fittings including the koiguchi, kurigata (knob for sageo), and kojiri (scabbard end cap) are made of hand cut and polished buffalo horn. The black and white sageo (carrying cord) is made of synthetic silk.
