Dojo Pro Katana Model #8 (29 inch blade)

The Dojo Pro Katana Model #8 from Ronin Katana is a beautiful piece with a blade forged from 1060 steel and through hardened, a process that increases the hardness of the metal by rapidly quenching it. It also features a unique maru gata (round or circular) tsuba based on an actual antique Japanese sword. It also has a habaki and brass menuki that is gold colored along with the fuchi kashira (hilt collar and pommel cap) made of blackened iron.

The tsuka (handle) is inlaid with black same (rayskin) and the tight tsukamaki uses silk ito (handle wrap). The katana comes sheathed in a black glossy lacquered saya (scabbard) with kurigata (knob for sageo), koiguchi (mouth of saya), and kojiri (scabbard end cap) made of hand cut and polished buffalo horn. The kurigata allows the thick sageo (carrying cord) made of synthetic silk to be attached so the sword can be attached to the obi (belt).
