Dojo Pro Katana Model #9 O-Katana Samurai Sword

As its name implies, the Dojo Pro Katana Model #9 O-Katana is longer than the average katana measuring 45 inches in length (33 inch blade, 12 inch tsuka). The blade is forged from 1060 steel and through hardened, a process where the steel goes through a rapid quench to increase the hardness throughout the whole blade.

Like all of Ronin Katana's Dojo Pro Line Swords, the tsuba (guard) of this O-Katana is based on an actual antique Japanese katana. This model features a black maru gata (circular or round) tsuba and fuchi kashira (hilt collar and pommel cap) made of blackened iron. The only koshirae (fittings) that stand out are the gold habaki (blade collar) and gold colored brass menuki.

The tsuka (handle) of this o-katana is inlaid with white same (rayskin) and wrapped in black silk ito (handle wrap). It comes with a glossy black lacquered saya (scabbard) that has hand cut and polished buffalo horn koiguchi (mouth of saya), kurigata (knob for sageo), and kojiri (scabbard end cap). The overall look of this o-katana is completed with the black and white sageo (carrying cord) made of synthetic silk.
