Dragon Koshirae Katana Oil Quenched Blade

The Katana was once widely used by the legendary samurai. Their sacrifice and joy are represented in this particular piece with a red and black theme. With special treatment that protects the weapon from rust, it is crafted with 1060 high carbon steel in a single block style, giving it a full black blade. The blade is further quenched and heat-treated for added strength and flexibility.
The tang is double-pegged for stability, and the grooved blade decreases its weight. The grooves in the blade also produce a _tachikaze_ (slashing sound) when the weapon is swung. Its handle is wrapped with ray skin and fiber tsuka-maki, allowing for a stronger grip. The weapon's scabbard is made of shiny glossed wood.
The copper and alloy fittings are engraved with the courageous dragon and are easily assembled and disassembled. The sword is ideal for light cutting practice or a beautiful decorative piece.
