Hanwei Katana Flying Crane Tori XL Light

This Tori XL Light Katana is part of Hanwei's Performance Series. Designed for quick attacks on heavier targets and built for martial artists, the full tang XL light blade of this katana is forged from K120C steel, an exceptional powder steel known for its homogeneity and even carbon distribution. Differentially treated and clay tempered, the blade features a beautiful jihada and midareba hamon along with excellent durability and edge retention. The blade in this katana has a fuller that helps to lighten the overall weight of the sword while improving its balance, allowing for agile strikes.

As expected, the mokko gata (lobed shaped) tsuba features a flying crane. Other fittings include the fuchi, kashira, Kabuto inspired menuki, habaki, and seppa. The blade is secured to the tsuka with two mekugi. The handle is then covered in black same and wrapped with high quality brown leather tsuka ito. This katana comes sheathed in a textured brown finished saya wrapped at the mouth with black lacquered rattan.
