Folded Steel Jian Clay Tempered Hualee Wood

This is a Han Dynasty (202 BCE - 220 CE) double-edged Jian sword that was very influential in ancient times. It was among the first blade designs effectively used on large-scale Chinese battlefields. The sword is made from Damascus Steel, folded a total of 13 times, resulting in approximately 8192 beautiful, lively patterns. The blade has been authentically clay-tempered, hand-polished, water-quenched, and differentially hardened, possessing a genuine hamon.

Both the handle and scabbard are crafted from quality hardwood and Huali wood, the handle featuring a traditional x-patterned cord for an enhanced grip. Its fittings are made from brass, boasting a golden hue. The Han Jian can excel in cutting tests based on its sharpness, or serve as a safe training tool for a Tai Chi practitioner.
