Ninjato 1060 Carbon Steel Sword Functional Black

This dark Ninjato sword is a replica of the supposed weapons used by ninjas. Its black theme contributes to the overall secretive element and the sword is forged from 1060 high carbon steel laminated in a maru (single steel) format, increasing its durability, if used for cutting. The double-pegged filled tang blade is heat-treated, quenched, and polished for enhanced stability and strength.

The blade is specially treated for a black color, which helps protect it from rust, and features bohi (grooves) that reduce its weight and create the desired tachikaze (sound of a perfect swing). The handle is a tight leather tsuka-maki on top of rough rayskin, while the scabbard is fashioned from wood with a sturdy dark matte finish. The fittings, made from copper and iron, are darkened and simplified so as to not be easily seen in the darkness.
