Taikyu Katana Turbulent Wave Motif

Dragon King's Taikyu Katana is a refined and luxurious piece with a folded steel blade forged from T10 alloy and 9260 high carbon steel, ensuring the clear and distinct appearance of the hada (grain) and beautiful midareba (irregular) hamon. Due to the steel types used, this quick and light blade has excellent edge retention, strength, resilience, and flexibility.

Equipped with premium fittings, the kaku maru gata (square with rounded edges) tsuba is highly symbolic, featuring an intricately carved koi swimming upriver against strong currents and obstacles before reaching its destination and transforming into a powerful dragon. This legend inspires transformation and perseverance, a reminder to never give up on one's dreams. This theme is also reflected in other koshirae such as the fuchi, kashira, and menuki.

In line with the design of the katana, the wooden tsuka is covered in ray skin and tightly wrapped with teal Japanese silk tsuka ito. Completing the elegant appearance is a deep blue lacquered saya and matching sageo. In the right light, the hue of the scabbard reveals a teal reflection that showcases the beauty of sword art.
