Handmade Clay Temper High Carbon Steel Katana

This katana from Shadow Dancer has a shinogi zukuri (curved with yokote and shinogi close to the mune) blade forged from high carbon steel, differentially hardened, clay tempered, and hand polished to reveal a unique ko-choji hamon (small clusters of clove flowers). This beautiful blade is secured to the handle with one mekugi.
The Haichi style tsuka is then covered in white genuine samegawa and wrapped with artificial silk ito. For the koshirae, it features an iron maru gata tsuba, brass fuchi, and kashira with ornate designs. It is also equipped with a brass menuki, copper seppa, and habaki. The katana comes sheathed in an oil lacquered saya mounted with brass shitodome and thick sageo.
