Hanwei Shashka 1881 Cossacks Saber

The Model 1881 Shashka, a standard issue for Russian cavalry, is closely replicated in this sword, reflecting its association with the Cossacks, known as the "Cavalry of the Steppes." Originally produced during the reign of Tsar Nicholas II, the sword bears his cipher on the pommel. The high-carbon blade, etched with the royal cipher, showcases the distinct saber blade geometry and a strong distal taper, making it well-suited for slashing attacks. 

Unlike other sabers, this sword features a unique hilt design, foregoing the basket guard for a ribbed hardwood grip and a strongly hooked pommel. A durable leather lanyard adds to the secure handling of the weapon.
