Shirasaya Katana San Mai Steel Sword High Grade

This high grade shirasaya katana is custom made to feature its simple and elegant design, where its main purpose is the appreciation of the blade. Forged from folded steel with honsanmai lamination, the Shinogi Zukuri blade is Jizuya and Hazuya polished using a Narutaki stone and thin Uchigumori stone fixed with paper bring out the midare (irregular patter) hamon (temper line) and hada (folded grains). The full tang blade also has a bohi (fuller) that lightens the sword, improves the point of balance, and produce a better sounding hasuji (path of the blade). Due to its shirasaya design, there are no fittings, but the tsuka (handle) and saya (scabbard) are made of rosewood (Huali wood) with the fuchi (hilt collar) and koiguchi (mouth of saya) made of buffalo horn. Customized versions are also accepted.
