Hofu Sanmai Katana

The HOFU SANMAI KATANA (S06) is a masterpiece of tradition, showcasing a delicate balance between aesthetics and function. It measures 41 3/8 inches in overall length, with a 29-inch blade. The blade is hand-forged and folded from high-carbon steel, forming a complex 1024-layer pattern. It undergoes clay tempering and water quenching to achieve an edge hardness of 60 HRC and a body hardness of 35 HRC, ensuring a resilient yet sharp blade.

Crafted in the Shinogi Zukuri style, this Katana embodies authenticity. The Koshirae, or fittings, further enhance its traditional look. Silver seppa and HANA habaki work in harmony with the silver grape seed menuki, adding a unique touch to the sword. The classical silver fuchi and kashira add elegance to the overall design.

The tsuka is wrapped in golden brown Japanese silk and black rayskin, providing a comfortable and firm grip. The sword is encased in a golden-green gloss finish saya, adorned with silver kurikata, koikuchi, sayajiri, and a tasteful flower inlay.
