Hanwei Sword Holy Roman Empire Coronation

Aptly named, Hanwei's Sword of St. Maurice pays homage to Saint Maurice, a Christian soldier whose alleged matyrdom inspired many and is recognized today as the patron saint of the Vatican's Swiss Guard. The original Sword of Saint Maurice eventually served as the coronation sword of the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire for more than 700 years. It was last used during the coronation of Emperor Karl of Austria in 1916 and has since been kept in the Weltliche Schatzkammer, Vienna.

Staying true to the design, Hanwei's replica of the Sword of St. Maurice is an Oakeshott XI, a long and slender single handed sword. This replica does not include any of the later additions and is based on what the earlier version the original sword may have appeared.

Forged from 1566 high carbon steel, the replica comes adorned with the Arms of the Empire Eagle crest on one side of the pommel and the personal arms of Otto on the other. Meanwhile, the guard is engraved with the words, "CHRISTUS VINCIT, CHRISTUS REGNAT, CHRISTUS IMPERAT". This translates to Christ conquers, Christ reigns, and Christ rules. This replica comes with a solid wood core scabbard.
