Japanese Tachi Hazuya Polished Full Tang Blade

The Tachi sword was among the most frequently used edged weapons on the samurai battlefields, even before the Katana existed. This particular blade, a replica of a Tachi prominent during the Kamakura period (1185-1333), was extensively used by foot and cavalry units. It's a premium piece of art that's also truly functional, made from reliable 1060 high carbon steel known for its perfect mix of flexibility and toughness.

The full-tang, double-pegged blade ensures security and features a genuine hamon, achieved through historically accurate clay tempering for perfect hardness. The handle, traditionally wrapped with rough rayskin under a smooth silk tsuka-maki, allows for a firm grip. Furthermore, the scabbard is crafted from hardwood and wrapped with rayskin, while the fittings—richly adorned with the Japanese lion symbolizing power—are made of brass.
