Katana 1095 Carbon Steel Sword Folded Quenched Blade

The legendary samurai of Japan used a single-edged blade called a Katana. This particular sword is an affordable replica of those renowned samurai weapons. It is made out of Damascus Steel, folded 13 times, resulting in approximately 8192 visible enticing blade layers. The steel has been polished and oil-quenched to achieve a mirror shine and to enhance the Damascus patterns.

The blade is both double pegged and full tang, enhancing its stability. It features a shinogi-zukuri (thick spine blade shape) with a bohi (grooves), to reduce its weight and produce a tachikaze (sound feedback) when used for slashing. The handle boasts a tight rayskin-wrapped Tsuka-Maki cord to assist its wielder in grasping it. The scabbard is sturdy hardwood, colored with a strong matte finish. All the fittings, made from quality iron and brass, are colored in a strong dark shade.
