Katana 9260 Spring Steel Sword Folded Monster Tsuba

This Katana sword, based on the bladed-edged weapon used by the legendary Samurai of Japan, features a nūrihyon motif. The nūrihyon was an ancient monster commonly featured in Japanese writings and texts, known to emerge from the sea and push people from their boats. Forged from high carbon steel that's been folded multiple times, the sword boasts a multitude of Damascus Steel-like patterns dancing across its blade.

The full-tang blade is pegged with two pegs for added security and features bohi (grooves) to reduce its weight. It produces a tachikaze (sound feedback) during a slash. Wrapped with silk hineri-maki (cord wrap style) over traditional rough rayskin, the wooden handle ensures a comfortable yet powerful grip. The scabbard, made from reliable hardwood, is lacquered for a shiny effect. Its fittings, forged from alloy, brass, and copper, feature the Japanese demon. This Katana can be either sharpened or unsharpened and is suitable for tameshigiri (cutting practice) or Iaido training.
