Katana Samurai Folded Steel Copper Tsuba

This Japanese Katana sword is made of pattern steel, folded 13 times, resulting in over 8000 vibrant blade layers. The steel has been heat-treated and oil quenched to achieve ideal hardness levels and polished in a 15-step process resulting in a strong, mirror-like finish.

This full-tang Katana, having no bohi (groove), is ideally weighted for powerful cutting practice. The fittings, engraved with the Japanese crane - a symbol of good fortune, loyalty, and honor - are made out of copper. The two-handed handle, wrapped with rayskin and a tightly wound tsuka-maki cord of silk, accompanies a rattan-covered wooden scabbard.
