Ko-Choji Katana

Z-Sey's Ko-Choji Katana is an intricate masterpiece that combines both aesthetics and function. Forged from smelted steel improved by Z-Sey themselves, the shinogi zukuri (curved blade with yokote and shinogi close to mune) blade is differentially hardened, clay tempered, and Sashikomi polished to grade A+ to reveal a Ko-Choji style hamon (temper line). This is an elaborate temper line resembling small clove flowers.

Fitted with an iron tsuba (guard), fuchi (hilt collar), kashira (pommel cap); brass menuki; along with copper seppa (washer) and habaki (blade collar), the overall look of the katana is completed with a handmade Haichi style tsuka (handle). This is then wrapped in white normal emperor node same (rayskin) which is held in place using blue artificial silk ito (handle wrap).

The katana also comes with a black oil lacquered saya (scabbard) with horn Koiguchi (mouth of scabbard), kurigata (knob for sageo), and kojiri (scabbard end cap). The brass shitodome mounted on the opening of the kurigata prevents the blue artificial silk sageo (carrying cord) from fraying.
