Hanwei Katana Mokko Renshu NO Hi

Hanwei's Mokko Renshu Katana is an elegant piece that focuses on function and value. Forged from 5160 high carbon spring steel, the presence of chromium, silicon, and manganese in the material results in a deep hardened structure. This produces a blade that is resilient, flexible, and has excellent edge retention, making it a steel favored by many skilled swordsmiths. This blade has a shinogi zukuri style.

Like the Practical Series Swords, this katana is equipped with the same high quality fittings that remain economical as they are plain and unadorned, focusing on function instead of aesthetics. As its name implies, this katana is equipped with a mokko gata (lobed) tsuba. While the other koshirae remain simple, the menuki is gold colored and elaborately detailed.

The tsuka for this katana is covered with white same and wrapped tightly with black tsuka ito. The sword is completed with a black lacquered saya. Constructed entirely from high quality materials, this katana is suitable for any practitioner who focuses on function over aesthetics.
