Mudan Jian Folded Pattern Steel Tempered

This is a double-edged, straight Chinese sword, known as a Jian. Its key motif is the Peony, a rare woody flower unique to China, where it has grown for over 1,500 years. Often reputed as the "king of flowers," it symbolizes wealth and honor today, just as it did 1,000 years ago.

This specific Peony Jian is crafted from pattern steel, folded repeatedly to produce more than 8192 beautiful layers, similar to a Damascus Steel sword. The blade is hand-polished and clay-tempered, forming a genuine hamon and substantially harder edge for slashing. The handle and scabbard are fashioned from dark ebony wood, while its intricate fittings adorned with Chinese natural elements are made of copper. With varying degrees of sharpness, this Jian is versatile for cutting, training, or decoration.
