Nagamaki/Katana 1095 Steel Chinese Style (Naginata Blade)

The Nagamaki and Naginata were edged weapons used by the Japanese samurai, featuring a large handle or shaft that facilitated very powerful, sweeping attacks. Their longer blades were smelted and turned into shorter Katana sword sizes during the Edo Period.

This is a Katana replica that has a longer handle like a Nagamaki and the blade profile of a Naginata. It is forged out of 1095 high carbon steel mounted on Chinese-like fittings, with a unokubi-zukuri (blade profile) that is known for its powerful cutting prowesses.

The blade has been expertly heat-treated, water quenched, and traditionally clay tempered, forging a genuine hamon with a significantly harder edge for cutting. The sword, double-pegged and full tang, guarantees increased security during slashing. Both the handle and the scabbard are crafted from reliable hardwood, while the fittings are made of quality brass. The sword can be fully disassembled for maintenance.
