Hanwei Thrusting Spear Niello Decorated

Paul Chen's decorated spearheads showcase the Viking's artistic prowess and martial skills, featuring intricate patterns created through the "Niello" process. In this technique, an alloy of metals, including silver, mixed with sulfur is applied to engraved patterns and then fired. The resulting effect is a striking contrast between the blackened engraved areas and the polished surface. 

Hanwei's decorating process achieves a similar lustrous and durable Niello-like effect. These spearheads have a shaft diameter of 1" and are sold separately. The Viking Thrusting Spear, favored over swords for its cost-effectiveness, features Frankish-inspired wings or lugs that offer both defensive capabilities and limited penetration. The total head length measures 16".
