Ocean Citadel Katana with Sea Wave Motif

Handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, Citadel's swords and knives are unique custom creations made in their small workshop in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. In collaboration with them, we have commissioned a limited series of swords made in the same style and manner as their highly sought-after custom pieces. Each sword is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, signed by the skilled smith on the nakago and accompanied by a matching certificate.

Inspired by the ocean, this particular sword boasts a wave-themed tsuba and intricately designed fuchi and kashira depicting turbulent waters. The blade is meticulously hand-forged from DNH7 high carbon steel, employing traditional techniques of differential hardening and polishing. A full-length bo-hi or fuller adorns the blade, enhancing its balance and lightness. The tsuka, carved specifically for each sword, ensures a secure fit with its tightly wrapped same-gawa or stingray skin. The handle is skillfully wrapped with natural white silk dyed using tea, giving it a unique tan color that deepens over time. The saya, lacquered in a rich midnight blue hue, is also individually carved to provide a snug fit for the sword.
