Hanwei Ninjato Practical Shinobi Black Same

Hanwei's Practical Shinobi Ninja-to is similar in construction to the Practical Katana, a piece that focuses on value and function instead of aesthetics to ensure high quality swords are accessible to all martial arts practitioners. With a straight single edged blade forged from 1566 high carbon steel, the presence of substantial manganese results in a uniformed hardened microstructure after the tempering process. This results in a blade that is tough and has excellent edge retention despite extended use. An added advantage is the suguha hamon that adds to the overall aesthetics of the sword.

Equipped with a blackened iron hira kaku gata (square) tsuba with an antiqued finish, the ornate tsuba depicts the different kuji kiri (hand positions for energy channeling) believed to have been employed by the mystical ninja. All the other fittings including the fuchi and kashira have the same antiqued finish.

The tsuka is first covered with synthetic black same and wrapped tightly with durable synthetic black leather to give it a secure and comfortable grip. The saya for this ninjato has a flat black finish, an intricate kojiri, and demon head bindings for the black Japanese cotton sageo.
