Hanwei Katana Premium Purple Tonbo

Hanwei's Tonbo Katana is an intricate and elaborate piece that combines function and aesthetics. Exquisitely designed, this unique masterpiece has a full tang blade forged from K120C steel, a type of powder steel known for its homogeneity and even carbon distribution. Differentially treated and clay tempered, the beautiful jihada and hamon is accentuated. This blade also has a fuller that decreases the overall weight of the sword while improving its point of balance, allowing for quick and agile strikes.

Aptly named, this katana is equipped with a maru gata (round) tsuba cast in stainless steel, patina'd like black iron, and features an exquisite dragonfly hovering over a flower detailed in gold and bronze. This motif also carries over to the fuchi and kashira. Other fittings include the seppa and one-piece brass habaki.

One of the main characteristics of this katana's unique appearance is its tsuka inlaid with white high quality same and wrapped with premium purple Japanese cotton tsuka ito. This beautiful color is enhanced by the deep black lacquered saya detailed with gold dragonflies. The saya is fitted with a kojiri, koiguchi, and kurigata made of buffalo horn along with an elegantly woven black silk sageo.
